Middle Road
What a difference a day makes – well two actually
Plotholders at Middle Road have seen an overnight transformation of their site, with eight new plots created from nothing.
Over a weekend, thanks to the hard work of plotholders, a large area of neglected woodland was removed and will soon be used as good quality plots.
With money from Brentwood Horticultural Society, an excavator took out trees and deep roots and volunteers cleared the entire site in just one weekend.
The phenomenal weekend of work now means the site is ready to lay out, have paths added, and be let to plotholders.
Ian Palmer, chair of BHS, said “This was a massive effort by Middle Road volunteers, and with soil that has been composted for decades, we now have eight quality plots ready to let.”
The pictures show the progress from woodland to a virgin allotment area.
